Johnny Young: Western Australian singer, songwriter, radio announcer and TV compere (1947-2026), real name John De Jong, often recorded with his band The Kompany. In later years he became known for his long-running youth variety show Young Talent Time and the associated talent school. Among his notable compositions are the Russell Morris 1969 classic The Real Thing and Smiley (1969), a hit for Ronnie Burns.
