Single on RCA by Sydney entertainer. This was the second of his two singles 1966 and 1967.
Barry Newman (born c.1948) appeared in stage musicals Oliver and Cabaret and on TV’s Bandstand and In Melbourne Tonight. He sang, played banjo and guitar, and did impressions. In the early 70s he took his club act on tour to South Africa, Japan and The Philippines before working for over three years in the UK.
Newman had often appeared in events for Sydney’s Jewish community, and after returning from the UK in 1976 he became entertainments manager for Hakoah football club in Bondi, responsible for booking acts for its Hakoah Auditorium.

On EP C’Est Tellement Bon June 1965 by drummer with a jazz background Willy Lewis (William Taieb, b.1944 in Tunisia). He was the first drummer engaged by pioneering French rock’n’roll band Les Chats Sauvages (May-October 1961) and later became Chuck Berry’s touring musical director.
The French lyrics (I’ve known some girls) are by singer-songwriter Pierre Vassiliu (1937-2014) who is the producer of the EP.
